Tradition Transformed

Student work

Tradition Transformed: Tibetan Artists Respond was an exhibition at the Rubin Museum of Art, the premier museum of Himalayan art in the Western world. Nine artists were invited to explore contemporary issues—personal, political, and cultural—by integrating the centuries-old traditional imagery, techniques, and materials found in Tibetan Buddhist art with modern influences and media.

This poster draws inspiration from the Hindu mandala, defined as an integrated structure organized around a unifying center.
